Cory Washington (second from left) has been chosen to be one of seventeen Wisconsin students who will be attending college with the help of the Milwaukee Brewers Community Foundation’s Selig Scholars Program, Player Scholarships donated by several Brewers players, the Miller Park Community Scholarship Program and the Michael J. Bonan Scholarship Fund. Washington is congratulated by (left to right): Greg Fanning of the Milwaukee Urban League (Washington is a member of the MUL’s National Achievers Society), Cecelia Gore, Executive Director of the Brewers Community Foundation, and Ralph Hollmon, President and CEO of the MUL. Washington will be attending the University of Wisconsin. The Brewers’ Selig Scholarship program recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their high school careers as well as community involvement through service and volunteering.
