Milwaukee County residents will get two chances to get their state and federal taxes done at no charge plus receive a wide array of other valuable services. The Social Development Commission (SDC) and the Milwaukee Asset Building Coalition (MABC) will hold a pair of Super Saturdays.
The Super Saturdays will be held Saturday, March 31 at SDC Richards facility at 4041 N. Richards Street and on Saturday, April 14 at the SDC facility at 2701 S. Chase Avenue from 8:30am to 2 pm. In addition to the free tax preparation services, the days will also include banks being on hand to sign up residents for traditional bank accounts that can be used for direct deposit of tax refunds, free credit reports, Habitat for Humanity offering home ownership information, and META House providing substance abuse resource information.
Super Saturdays are designed to bring a range of services all together at one location where MABC’s free tax program is being offered. MABC is in its 11th year of service to the community and has helped residents recover more than $100-million in tax refunds and credits during its history. For information on the free tax service, call 414-963-2694 or visit the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org, click on the “Programs” page, and then on the link for the “Volunteer Income Tax Assistance” program.
