Ryan Constituents and Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., to Rally in Racine to Demand a “Budget for All”
RACINE – Today, constituents of Rep. Paul Ryan will be joined by Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., (D-Ill) in a rally to denounce Ryan’s budget and demand a budget that works for all Americans, not just the wealthiest 1%.
“Ryan’s budget is immoral, heartless, outrageous, and out of touch,” said Florence Hammelev, Kenosha, who will speak at the rally. Caitlin Lee, a student at Carthage College, and Kelley Albrecht, Burlington, also will share their personal stories about the effects the Ryan budget would have on their lives and the rest of the 99%. Other residents of Wisconsin’s 1stCongressional District and people from Progressive Congress Action Fund will be on hand, too.
Jackson, a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, will join the group in a call for the adoption of the CPC’s “Budget for All,” which preserves and protects the American Dream while reducing deficits.
