Do not give up, you just got started!
by Rev. Roxanne Cardenas, M.Div
Here we are, two weeks into the New Year and it seems as though the world has been in overdrive!
Tucson dealt with the tragedy during the Congress on your Corner event; 600 people drowned in Brazil; Australia has had record flooding: Haiti has seen the return of a dictator and the list goes on and on. It seems almost impossible that we haven’t even seen the first thirty days of the year.
Many people have started their New Year’s resolution and some have already given up! I urge you to keep pushing toward your ultimate goal. If you gave up on your fast, new project or goals, start again!
If you forgot to start, write yourself a note and put it on your bathroom mirror and get moving! No matter what you do, have a plan and stick to it.
God has a plan for our lives and He also expects us to work toward the goals he has set for our lives.
Once you are firm in your goals it becomes easier to accomplish them because they are constantly before you.
As you keep working toward your goals, you’ll find many opportunities to celebrate the milestones we often miss, as we’re rushing from one thing to the next.
Just as the world has seen many trials and triumphs in the first few days of the year, perhaps you too have already experienced challenges.
If so that is all the more reason to stay firmly focused and pursue the goals the God has destined for you to reach.
By this time next year what does GOD expect you to have accomplished. Looking at things through the wider lens of Almighty God who sees the big picture keeps us encouraged and motivated to press past adversity and see our dreams realized.
Don’t give up, you just got started.
