Nationwide — JL King, the New York Times best-selling author who wrote On the Down Low and more than ten other books, is now announcing the launch of his very own publishing company called JL King Publishing. His goal is to help as many African American writers as possible to write, promote, and sell their own book.
But the truth is that King is not at all new to the publishing game! Over the years, he has already published more than 150 books for various different authors, but his services were not always open to all writers. Initially, he was very selective and did not want to market his company to the general public. But now that has all changed!
Now, he is willing to take on any African American writer that is serious and wants to release a book within 6 months or less. “Everyone has a book inside of them ready to be born American. It is my ministry to make that happen,” King says. “A book can change lives, heal, educate and leave legacies for years. Don’t die without your story being told.”
Based in both New York City and Atlanta, King says that what makes his company different from other book publishers is that he too himself is an author… and a successful one at that. In addition to instantly making the New York Times best-selling list, King has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Inside Edition and on CNN. He was also featured in Newsweek, Time Magazine, The Washington Post, and The Chicago Tribune. He says that his personal success is clear evidence that he can help other authors to also be successful.
