Take in the brilliant colors of Autumn

Hales Corners, WI – Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive will host AutumnFest (rain or shine) on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 11am to 3pm. This fundraiser for children, families and adults provided by the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens will support Children’s Plant Science and Environmental Education.
Some of the fun activities for children during AutumnFest will include pumpkin picking & decorating, handcrafts, and samplings from local vendors. Author Lois Ehlert, who will read from two children’s books, will make a special appearance. Admission rates to AutumnFest are $7 for adults ($5 for members), $3 for seniors ages 65+, $25 family rate for 2 adults and 3 children, $5 for children and free admission to children ages 2 and under.

With the fall season rapidly advancing at Boerner Botanical Gardens now is the best time to catch the last glance of brilliantly colored shrubs and trees, along with perennial and annual flowers. Visitors are welcome from sunrise to sundown, with doors opening at 8am. Sunday Brunch is offered through Bartolotta Catering from 10am to 1:30pm. Admission rates to the gardens are $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-17. For more information go boernerbotanicalgardens.org or contact Amy Opad at (414) 525-5661.
