‘Art in the Neighborhood’ Gallery Night in Harambee
The Harambee Great Neighborhoods Initiative in partnership with LISC Milwaukee, Northcott Neighborhood House and the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation is hosting another Gallery Night on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 5:30 to 9:00 at the King Drive Commons Gallery and Studio, located at 2775 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive (Corner of West Hadley Street and King Drive).
The featured artist, Scott Pollard is a mixed media artist who uses a variety of multimedia devices to create vibrant and dazzling images. Dr. Richard Lewis is an emerging artist who uses a variety of CIBA crone prints. His photographs aim to capture fleeting configurations of happenstance that engage our human curiosity. His camera curiously stores these instances of rare beauty and replays them for anyone who expects beauty anywhere and everywhere.
Entertainment will include live jazz music by Saxophonist, Larry Moore and guests and the Hansberry-Sands Theater Company preview of “Sassy Mamma” . Refreshments and appetizers will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Our past Gallery Night events have brought hundreds of people together to view dynamic and emerging artists with particular emphasis on African American Artwork. Come and join us in continuing to support the development of future artists in helping to establish a stronger arts and cultural presence in the neighborhood!
