The Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which operates under the name “Milwaukee ReStore” has agreed to lease a new 35,000 square foot location along the Hwy 45 corridor, just north of the zoo interchange. Kevin Barry of Cassidy Turley Barry represented WBP, LLC, the landlord of 3015 N 114th Street, Wauwatosa, WI and Trent Poole of CB Richard Ellis represented the tenant in the transaction.
Milwaukee ReStore recycles overstocked, discounted, new and used building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. The items are then sold at a fraction of the retail price to the public. Another benefit of the ReStore model is the commitment to recycling: The Milwaukee ReStore helped keep over 730,000 pounds of materials out of landfills in 2009.
Profits from the Milwaukee ReStore help fund Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building and renovating affordable housing and is staffed largely by volunteers. The new location will allow the Milwaukee ReStore to expand its business and better serve its customer base while providing a more flexible layout for its operations. In addition, the Milwaukee ReStore will now have prominent exposure along with Hwy 45 frontage and immediate access to the Hwy 45 and Burleigh Road interchange. The move to the new facility will happen in the fall, with operations fully functional by October 1.
