Five summer concerts will kick off August 4 in Kenosha
KENOSHA, WI – Make the Anderson Arts Center your live music destination this summer for the free 2020 Twilight Jazz Summer Concert Series taking place from August 4 through September 8. The series features regional jazz bands and legends on the shores of Lake Michigan on Tuesday nights.
“We are moving forward with our concert series so that everyone can get their summer dose of live music this year,” said Ed Kubicki, Kemper Center Executive Director. “We will be taking precautions and following state and local COVID-19 protocols to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.”
In past years, large audiences have been packed together on the lawn, but this year the grounds may look a bit emptier. Lines will be drawn on the grass to maintain social distancing between families. Lines for food and beverage purchases will be socially distanced, and staff and volunteers will be wearing masks and encouraging cashless transactions for food and beverages.
The schedule has been pushed back to from its original June and July dates. The following artists will perform at this year’s series:
Suzanne Grzanna – August 4
Janet Planet – August 11
Infusion – August 25
The Kal Bergendahl Project – September 1
Jazz Spectrum – September 8
The grounds open at 6:00pm and seating will be first come first served on the south side of the Anderson Arts Center. When all spaces on the lawn are filled, families are welcome to listen from their cars.
The events are free and food and drinks will be available for purchase. No carry-ins of alcohol are allowed.
The Twilight Jazz Summer Concert Series is generously sponsored by Design Partners Inc., First American Bank, Lake County Press, Palmen Motors, Snap-on Inc., Spectrum Wealth Advisors, and Tithof Tile & Marble. Sponsorships are still available.
For 16 years, the Twilight Jazz Summer Concert Series has established itself as one of Kenosha’s signature events, drawing crowds from throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Funds raised during the concert series support and sustain the Anderson Arts Center and the Kemper Center and help to promote the arts and art education in the community.
