MKE Small BusinessWeek events will allow city’s small business owners to network, learn unwritten rules for success from industry experts and entrepreneurs

Every year since 1963, the president of the United States has proclaimed National Small Business Week to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the economic wellbeing of America.

Mosaic Communications, in partnership with Mayor Tom Barrett and the City of Milwaukee’s Office of Small Business Development, recently announced several events planned in honor of National Small Business Week. These events will celebrate and educate Milwaukee’s thriving small business community.

It is undeniable that the hidden jewel of Milwaukee is the thousands of small businesses and new startups that call our city home,” said Erbert Johnson, President of North Milwaukee State Bank, the presenting sponsor for MKE Small Business Week.

When Mosaic Communications approached us about localizing the national celebration, we thought it was a great idea because our bank works with many small businesses and we know these businesses play a key role in driving the city’s economic growth.”

National Small Business Week takes place May 21 through May 26. Events are planned in Milwaukee through May 24 thanks to NMSBank, and other MKE Small Business Week supporting sponsors, which include the City of Milwaukee’s Office of Small Business Development, Maures Development Group, Mosaic Communications, Spann and Associates, The North End, Roundy’s Supermarkets and Woo Connections.

National Small Business Week is a celebration of the successes and the positive impact small businesses have on our economy and this event will allow us to celebrate the small business community on a local level,” said Johnna Scott, Co-Owner of Mosaic Communications. “It’s easy for small businesses, like ours, to get overshadowed by the larger corporations; so our team thought this was the perfect opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate Milwaukee small business owners.”
