Milwaukee area residents got the chance to meet with dozens of potential employers at the Spring Career Fair. The event was coordinated by the W-2 Program of the Social Development Commission (SDC) and Kaplan University on April 17.
The job fair attracted hundreds of residents by offering access to more than 30 businesses and agencies who are seeking new workers. Jobs being filled included those in the manufacturing, banking, cleaning, customer service, educational and child care sectors. The fair was held at the Wisconsin Army National Guard Armory on N. Richards Street.
Providing employment opportunities is a vital role of the SDC W-2 program. Their next major job fair will be part of the 13th Annual Milwaukee Money Conference on April 28 at the Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee at 3620 N. 18th Street between 1:30 and 3:30 pm. The program will also be part of SDC’s Spring Job and Resource Fair scheduled for May 19 at Greater New Birth Church at 82 and Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee.
