Democratic Party to Host Candidate Debate in 6th Senate District

The Democratic Party of Milwaukee County will host a debate amongst the Democratic candidates vying to represent Wisconsin’s 6th Senate District. The debate will take place Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Washington Park Senior Center.

There are five declared candidates in the Democratic primary, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14, 2012. So far, three of them –Wisconsin State Representatives Beth Coggs, Milwaukee County Supervisor Nikiya Harris, and Mr. Delta Triplett – have agreed to participate in the debate. The other two candidates – Milwaukee County Supervisor Michael Mayo and Mr. Allyn Swan – have been invited.

The debate, which will be moderated by Democratic Party of Milwaukee County Chair Sachin Chheda, will include opening and closing statements, questions from the moderator and questions from the audience. The event will be free and open to the public and voters in the 6th Senate District are especially invited to attend.
