6th District Difference Makers Awards

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs will present the Dr. James G. White 6th District Difference Makers Award to selected honorees during the 6th District town hall meeting next week at the Martin Luther King Library, 310 W. Locust St. The meeting Wednesday, January 18, 2017 will get underway at 5:30 p.m. in the community room.
The award was founded by Alderwoman Coggs to recognize selfless and dedicated work to improve the district, neighborhoods and the community. The award recognizes those residents and organizations that work diligently to improve and strengthen the quality of life for their neighborhood and the City of Milwaukee. Dr. White was a resident of the 6th District who served as a county supervisor and the regional vice president of WestCare Wisconsin Harambee Community Center, facilitating countless neighborhood projects and programs and always using his gifts, talents and knowledge to improve and empower his community.
The meeting will include discussion about city services and other topics, and city representatives will be in attendance from the Department of Public Works, the Department of Neighborhood Services, the Department of City Development, Milwaukee Police Department District Five, and the Neighborhood Improvement Development Corp. (NIDC).
