Public Hearing Set for Thursday on Proposed Brownfield Cleanup

January 5, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II invites neighbors and residents to attend a public hearing on the proposed brownfield cleanup effort on Thursday, January 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Ann Center’s Bucyrus Campus, 2450 W. North Ave. The contaminated dirt was moved to build the campus in 2015 and is now confined in piles behind the facility.

St. Ann Center recently received $400,000 in U.S. EPA Brownfield Cleanup grants to remove or cap the dirt and is scheduled to start work on this project in April 2017. Residents will be able to learn more about the project and ask questions.

“I encourage residents to attend this hearing to learn about the cleanup and how it is planned to occur,” Alderman Stamper said. “St. Ann Center wants to ensure that every voice is heard.”
