UnitedHealthcare Hosts Community Block Party to Support Health and Wellness of Milwaukee Families

WHAT:

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin is partnering with community organizations to host a Community Block Party at the Brown Street Academy in Milwaukee on Saturday, September 10th. Participating community organizations include Employ Milwaukee to talk about employment programs and Milwaukee Health Services and Progressive Health Center will provide basic health screenings. Covering Wisconsin will also participate to provide enrollment assistance and literacy stations will be available through the Brown Street Academy.

The Community Block Party event is open to the public. Additional activities include a yoga instructor leading classes, juicing and cooking demonstrations, and a raffle. Barbers will provide free haircuts for boys from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Blood Center of Wisconsin will provide $10 Pick-n-Save gift cards to anyone who donates blood. Food and beverages will be available.

The goal of the Community Block Party is to help improve community health by connecting people to available employment, education, and health and wellness resources.
