Fathers will be able to access many valuable resources at the 6th Annual Milwaukee
Fatherhood Summit. The two day event will be held Friday and
Saturday, October 7 and 8 at Destiny Youth Plaza at 7210 W. Good Hope
Road for area fathers.
The Fatherhood Summit is free and open to the public and is being coordinated by the
Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative (MFI) in partnership with the Social
Development Commission (SDC).
A series of workshops and discussion sessions will be held both days on topics
that include Men Ain’t Boys, I Am Still Your Father, A Father’s
Influence on his Children, Leadership Starts at Home, and I’m a New
The Fatherhood Summit will also provide a Health and Job Resource Fair Friday and
Saturday that will link fathers to a variety of services and
These will include health screenings, business development opportunities, housing,
education, and financial education including help with computers that
will be able to access credit information. Employers seeking workers
will also be present to offer information on openings and to take
resumes and applications.
Driver’s license recovery and child support workers will be at the Fatherhood Summit
