A group of men and women will take a big step on their way to success. They will receive diplomas for successfully completing coursework and testing for the GED/HSED program at the Social Development Commission (SDC).
The program participants will be the focus of graduation ceremonies held Thursday, May 17at 1 pm at the Wisconsin National Guard Armory at 4108 N. Richards Street. Special Guest Speaker for the ceremonies will be Rhonda Matthews Ware, the new Executive Director of the Alverno College Research Center for Women and Girls.
The graduates will be available following the ceremony to describe the struggles they endured in earning their diplomas. For many, the accomplishment will be one of a series of targets they have set towards making a better life for themselves and their families.
