Hines joins 100 Black Women’s Milwaukee chapter for ‘Legislative Day’

Milwaukee Common Council President Willie Hines Jr. (pictured at right in middle), was one of several elected officials who participated in the recent National Coalition of 100 Black Women Milwaukee Chapter’s Legislative Day.  The organization’s legislative day was held at the Wheaton Franciscan-St. Joseph auditorium, 5000 W. Chambers St.  More than 100 people attended the legislative day and met with federal, state, county and city politicians for round table discussions on quality of life issues concerning Milwaukee’s African American families.

Others in attendance included Mayor Tom Barrett, Congresswoman Gwen Moore, State Representatives Tamara Grisby, Barbara Toles, Alderman Ashanti Hamilton, County Supervisor’s Beth Coggs and Johnny Thomas.  Martha Love was the event’s keynote speaker.
