Pearl Moore, a senior citizen who is confined to her home of 42 years due to health issues, had a big problem last spring.
A victim of a predatory loan, she was having trouble keeping up on her mortgage payments.
The mother of two grown children, one a paraplegic and one disabled, Pearl needed help fast to try to stay in her home.
As the sole caregiver of her children and having her own health issues, Pearl could have felt overwhelmed by the situation and given up.
Instead, she sent her daughter to Select Milwaukee’s FREE Foreclosure Prevention Workshop presented by Brenda Brown and Iris Gonzalez.
Within days Pearl and her daughter were working with Homeownership Preservation Specialist Iris Gonzalez to remedy her predatory loan and keep her family in their long-time home.
As a result of their hard work, Pearl and her children remain in their Harambee neighborhood home.
Pearl keeps in touch with Iris to this day and is grateful for all the help she received.
