Idris Elba is in final negotiations to voice the tiger Shere Khan in an upcoming remake of Disney’s The Jungle Book, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The new live action/CGI film will be Iron Man director Jon Favreau’s take on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless fable.
Elba’s character is the man-eating enemy of the movie‘s main character, Mowgli.
Disney is still in the search for an actor to star as Mowgli, the boy raised by animals in the jungles of India.
Competing studio Warner Bros. is also in the process of creating a new version of The Jungle Book.
