Jonathan Alter to discuss book “The Promise: President Obama, One Year” at Concordia University

Next Chapter Bookshop, in partnership with event sponsor WUWM 89.7 – Milwaukee Public Radio, is honored to welcome Newsweek senior editor, television analyst and author Jonathan Alter to Mequon.

His talk, with Q & A, will be about his book, politics and more.  The event at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19 will be at the Todd Wehr Theatre on the campus of Concordia University, 12800 North Lake Shore Drive, Mequon, Wisconsin as part of Next Chapter’s ongoing author series.

This event is expected to draw several hundred attendees and the ticket price will include a signed copy of the book.  Tickets can be purchased in advance online by going to or in person at Next Chapter Bookshop, 10976 North Port Washington Road, Mequon, WI, 262-241-6220.  Seating is first come, first served.  A map to Concordia University can be found on the Next Chapter website.

Alter’s new biography, The Promise:  President Obama, Year One has been on the New York Times best seller list for eight weeks and counting.  In the book, Alter paints an intimate insider’s account of the President and his administration, from his election day through health care reform’s hard fought passage.
