Congresswoman Gwen Moore joined members of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Milwaukee in recognizing the commitment of 20 Milwaukee police officers—including Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn—prosecutors, urban planners and community members who recently completed a six-week community safety certification program designed to teach safety assessment and collaborative crime fighting responses.
In addition, the King Drive Partners and Milwaukee Police Department were honored with a MetLife Foundation Community-Police Partnership Award for reducing crime and spurring lasting economic development along the historic Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. The event took place in the gallery of the just completed King Commons II, 2775 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. (photo by Harry Kemp)
