I recently had the opportunity to attend a virtual event on how to prepare a good Macaroni and Cheese. The chef prepared a delicious variation of Macaroni and Cheese topped with bacon and shaved parmesan cheese, which looked delicious. It also inspired me to bake one of my mac n’ cheese recipes for Thanksgiving.
During the event I learned a lot about Macaroni and Cheese and its history of being the Ultimate comfort food. This season is also known as Comfort food season, which is food that often reminds you of your childhood and some of its main ingredients are carbs of course.
This year I am going to try a new recipe that I located on Southern Living’s website, where I often go to get good holiday recipes from. One of my favorites was their Sweet Potato Pie and to this day, it is still one of the best pies I have ever made.
So, try it for yourself and feel free to make this recipe your own by adding your favorite seasonings and spices, plus be creative and try different mix-ins like: Broccoli, Pimentos, Bacon, or whatever else you can think of.
Also, after Thanksgiving, leftover mac n’ cheese can be used to make other dishes such as fried mac n’ cheese balls or Bacon cheeseburgers topped with mac n’ cheese. This recipe has no limits so have fun with it and please share this story and send a comment if you try this recipe or if you just want to say hi!
