On Friday, October 9th, 2012 NMSBank President Erbert Johnson was given an
invitation by U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore to become a charter member of a new Financial Services Advisory Committee. This advisory committee was created by Congresswoman Moore to provide a more formalized way to receive input related to her leadership on the House Committee of Financial Services.
Some of President Johnson’s role on the committee will include helping keep financial service
industry people in the district aware of legislative initiatives that are being discussed in Congress, identifying issues that are potential barriers in regards to the industry performing their jobs and providing services to customers, and providing long-term strategic planning and goals for the industries impacted by the Committee’s jurisdiction. President Johnson states, “I am honored and delighted to represent our industry and community on this highly prestigious committee. The areas of financial services and housing are of paramount importance and I feel fortunate to help shape that policy.”
In addition to this latest accomplishment, Johnson was recently appointed to the Wisconsin
Housing Preservation Corp by Governor Scott Walker. He was also featured on the cover of Who’s Who in Black Milwaukee in 2011 and currently serves as a Milwaukee County Civil Service Commissioner. In regards to fulfilling each of these important roles Johnson states, “Although all these activities, in addition to my day job, keep me very busy… I feel it is my responsibility to help shape policies that impact our customers and community.”
