State Representative Tamara Grigsby (D-Milwaukee) visited the Capitol Tuesday and received a bipartisan standing ovation after almost three months away to recuperate from a serious illness.
“I am grateful to my colleagues in the Legislature, others in state government, my constituents and people across Wisconsin for their unflagging support and patience,” the representative said in a statement.
“It has truly contributed to my ongoing recovery. “I am getting stronger each day. Last week’smining bill vote and yesterday’s court decision striking down Wisconsin’s voter ID law inspire me, as they inspire all of us who are fighting for justice and democracy.
“I am excited to be here today and look forward to the many challenges ahead.
