Students will present check for two house sponsorships at school concert
MILWAUKEE – Students and faculty of Riverside University High School will present a check for $60,000 to Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, May 26th at its ‘Swing into Spring’ concert. The money was raised by Riverside students through the annual “Box City” fundraiser and will support the construction of two new Habitat homes being built this July.
For the past twelve years, students at Riverside High School have been raising funds to help build and sponsor a Habitat home for a low-income family. The ‘Box City’ fundraising event, held earlier this spring, challenged students to sleep outdoors for one night to raise funds and awareness about the need for affordable housing in Milwaukee.
Media are invited to attend the “Swing into Spring” concert where students and faculty will present the check to Milwaukee Habitat staff. Riverside High School is located at 1615 East Locust Street, Milwaukee, WI 53211
