“The Voices of our Ancestors” was the title of an art show that featured African Masks and other visuals held recently in the Bronzeville District at the King Drive Commons Gallery and Studio, 2775 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.
Two individuals important to the Black art scene were at the showing: Moustapha Drame (standing at left), the general manager of Africa Alive LLP; and (standing at right) Ahmad Abdullah, a drum maker. The art shows are held monthly to showcase local artists in the community.
Entertainment was provided by jazz saxophonist Larry Moore and the Hansberry Sands Theater Company. (Photo by Yvonne Kemp)
