Celebrate the holidays and stay on budget with SHARE Food Buying Club. This nonprofit, volunteer-run organization has helped families save 30-50% on quality food for over 25 years, and the holidays are no exception. For just $30 plus a small shipping and handling fee in some areas, SHARE’s Thanksgiving Dinner Package contains all of the fixings to prepare a complete holiday spread for a family of six. This year’s package includes a seasonal fresh produce assortment that’s larger than ever!
The SHARE Thanksgiving Dinner Package features a 12-14 pound turkey, lower-sodium stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, premium dinner rolls, an 8-inch pumpkin pie, and over 10 pounds of fresh produce including potatoes, celery, acorn squash, apples, oranges and other seasonal varieties (produce selection may vary).
Families can shop for the Thanksgiving Dinner Package during the Share Warehouse sale on Saturday, November 19 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. The Share Warehouse is located at 13111 W. Silver Spring Drive, Butler, WI, which is located at Silver Spring & 131st, one mile west of Highway 45 on the south side of the street.
SHARE also offers a complete Christmas Dinner Package for $30. It includes a 6-lb. boneless honey ham, canned pineapple, a sweet potato casserole, premium dinner rolls, an 8-inch apple pie, and over 10 pounds of fresh produce including white potatoes, broccoli, carrots, apples, oranges and more (again, actual produce selection may vary). Orders placement began November 9 and will be accepted online at www.sharewi.org through Tuesday, November 29 for pick-up on Saturday, December 17 at most SHARE sites.
With the continued economic downturn making it difficult for many families to make ends meet, SHARE also invites the public to help others in need this holiday season. You can purchase a dinner package for a family you know, or make a donation and SHARE will provide a dinner to a deserving family on your behalf. More information and a new secure online donation page are available at www.sharewi.org.
Everyone is welcome to purchase food through SHARE—there are no eligibility requirements or income limits. Families can purchase and pick up their dinner package and a selection of other quality foods at one of nearly 200 SHARE locations throughout Wisconsin, northeastern Minnesota, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern Illinois.
Businesses, churches, service clubs and social service organizations are also welcome to purchase dinner packages through SHARE for their holiday outreach programs. Many groups raise funds and then purchase holiday dinner packages to distribute to local families in need. For these groups, SHARE offers an affordable and convenient way to brighten the holidays for families in difficult circumstances.
SHARE’s efforts to serve the community with savings on quality food would not be possible without volunteers. More help in needed during the busy holiday season, but the need exists all year long. Visit www.sharewi.org or call toll-free 800-548-2124 for information on volunteering with SHARE in your community.
