St. Matthew CME Church will have a groundbreaking ceremony for a new church at Chambers and Eight Streets on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 3 p.m.
The gathering ceremony will be at the current church 2944 N. 9th Street.
Expected participants include Mayor Tom Barrett, Ald. Milele Coggs, Cong. Gwen Moore, State Sen. Lena Taylor, State Rep. Sandy Pasch, Milwaukee County Sup. David Bowen, Antonio Riley, regional office of HUD; Wyman Winston, WHEDA; Sam Williams, executive vice-president of the Boys and Girls Club; Earl Buford, WRTP/Big Step; Sheila Cochran, Milwaukee Labor Council, AFL-CIO; Ken Little, Seaway Bank; Pam Malone, Community Brainstorming; Lawrence Udu, HCO Architect; Bishop Paul A. J. Stewart, Presiding Elder Willie Dockery, Jr.; Rev. Richard D. Shaw, Pastor of St. Matthew CME Church and other church officers.
