St. Matthew CME Health Fair

The Ida Mae Black Missionary Society invites the community to attend the 3rd Annual Health Fair.

There will be health care providers for every member of the family present during the health fair, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 13 from 12:30 until 3:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 2944 N. 9th St.

The Phyllis H. Bedford Department will host the event.

Relationship Conference

Chosen Generation Outreach Ministries International will host their 7th Annual “Without Distraction” Relationship Conference.

The conference will be held February 4-6, 2011 at the Aloft Hotel, 1230 Old World 3rd Street.

“Without Distraction” Relationship conferences is a pre-Valentine event and is designed with the adults in mind.

It is a strengthening workshop that is meant to empower and remove all frustrations about building, mending and keeping a healthy relationship with God and your mate.

Even if you are single this workshop will clear fly your ideals, give foundation and guidance to finding the perfect mate.

Plain and simple we could all use some guidance to maintain or build a long lasting relationship.

Gospel Music Workshop

Well known composer, musician, and Gospel recording artist, W. Clifford Petty, will be facilitating a Gospel music workshop Saturday, February 26, 8:30-3:30, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 1927 N. Fourth Street, Milwaukee, 53212. The event will celebrate Black History month.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the African American tradition of Gospel music,” explains Father Michael Bertram, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi and workshop organizer. “It is not often we are able to learn from such a master musician.”

W. Clifford Petty is a nationally known clinician as well as being a full-time pastoral musician and composer-in-residence at Resurrection Catholic Church, Montgomery, Alabama. Several of his choral octavos can be found in the World Library Publications catalog.

Spring Worship Experience

The Riverside University High School Gospel Choir, under the Direction of Diante Harris, would like to invite the Milwaukee Community to their “Spring Worship Experience” on Sunday, March 13th, 2011 at 4:00PM.

The theme for this year program is “Turning Up the Volume in Worship!”

This event will be held at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, located at 2432 N. Teutonia Avenue in Milwaukee, where Rev. Dr. Johnny C. White, Jr., is the Pastor.

Local guests include: St. Matthew CME Church, Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Holy Temple First Born, Epistles of Christ Church of God in Christ, Tiffany Terry & Company, Minister Vanta Jones, and more.
