Introducing eight INtelligent, INspirational, INcomparable gems
MILWAUKEE The Pauline Redmond Coggs Foundation announces its 47th Debutante Cotillion taking place on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Eight young women hailing from Milwaukee Public High Schools (MPS), surrounding districts, and universities will be awarded scholarships by the foundation at its one-of-kind, first virtual, debutante gala.
With a rich history rooted in service and community impact, the Pauline Redmond Coggs Foundation would typically host more than 500 guests at Milwaukee’s Pfister Hotel. This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the tradition will carry on virtually with eight debutantes introduced to society collectively as, “The IN Crowd: INtelligent, INspirational, INcomparable.”
“Our IN Crowd theme speaks to the valiant, encouraging and outstanding spirit that our 2021 Debutante Class has exhibited along this ever-changing journey,” said the foundation’s president, Debra Brown- Wallace. “These debutantes have already made such an impact in the community, all while balancing their academics, extracurricular activities, and jobs.”
The debutantes have engaged all summer in community projects, workshops, trainings, and fundraising opportunities to round out their debutante experience. The Debutantes have worked with organizations and/or initiatives including, but not limited to: AMRI Counseling Center, St. Gabriel’s Adult Daycare Center, Alexian Village, Trinity Nursing Home, Feeding America, and the United Negro College Fund.
Debutantes have an opportunity to receive awards and scholarships when they successfully complete the program. To date, more than 1000 young women have participated and been awarded more than $900,000 in scholarships.
