President Barack Obama will deliver the final keynote address at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF) 46th Annual Legislative Conference Phoenix Awards Dinner. This will be the seventh time that President Obama will deliver the final keynote address. According to PRweb, the Phoenix Award is the CBCF’s way to honor individuals or organizations, “whose extraordinary achievements strengthen communities and improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities, nationally and globally.”
This year, the CBCF will be honoring four individuals as well as the Emanuel AME Church. Among the four being honored is former Secretary of State and current Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Clinton will be given the Trailblazer Award for becoming the first ever woman to attain the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. According to the CBCF:
