With summer on the way, many students struggle to keep themselves motivated and focused on schoolwork. But the end of the school year isn’t the time to lose motivation! With 6-8 weeks of school left, parents and students, here are 3 ways you both can help each other finish out the school year on a high note.
1.Increase check ins
Increasing check ins with your child will help them create and end of the year game plan. Refer to their last report card or utilize your parent -student portal to see current grades and missing assignments. Have your child reach out to their teachers if they seem to be struggling in a particular subject area.
2.Maintain your routine
Although summer vacation is right around the corner, it’s not here yet. Sticking to a routine during the last few weeks of school is even more important. A more relaxed routine may lead to losing the energy, focus, and motivation to complete homework assignments or study for tests.
3.Encouragement and recognition
Each and every single one of us likes to be encouraged by the people we love. A little recognition for our hard work or a job well done goes a long way. Don’t forget to encourage your child to keep going. Your child could also benefit from a small incentive as recognition for their hard work thus far.
Staying motivated at the end of a school year isn’t easy, but your child hours of studying and preparation will all pay off in the end. The benefit is mutual for both parents and students. Let’s continue setting our children and students up for a strong year end finish!
You can do this! You got this! You’re unstoppable!
