No one’s ready to say sorry about Vanessa Williams’ nude photo scandal.
Williams and Miss America execs have reached an impasse over who will apologize to whom on Sunday’s live show for her infamous 1984 resignation from the pageant, TMZ reports.
The former beauty queen, 52, believed a Miss America official would present her with both an apology and a shiny new crown during the show’s opening, according to TMZ’s sources.
Show officials, on the other hand, thought they would give Williams her crown after she apologized for the scandal, TMZ says.
A representative from Miss America declined comment on the dispute.
A promo video for the pageant does promise “a shocking twist with Vanessa” that will “rewrite Miss America history” within the first five minutes of the show.
