The Hansberry-Sands Theatre Company is seeking actors for their spring production, a classic dramatic work set in the 1960’s that speaks to the period’s turbulence through the hopes and dreams of a man of color and his intense struggle for honesty in a world where there appears none. The production will be mounted at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in September. The Company is in search of males to act in five roles, one role for an age span of 55 to 65 and the remaining four roles with an age span of 20 – 35. They are also seeking two females, one young lady 20-25 and the second, more mature, to play the role of a woman aged 30-35.
Auditions are by appointment only and will be held Tuesday, June 19th from 7:00-9:00 pm at the WI African American Women’s Center, 3020 W. Vliet St. They will be in 10-15 minute increments. Please bring 2 headshots and resumes and prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic monologue. A cold reading from the script may be required. Callbacks will be Wednesday, June 20th, 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the same location. For appointments call 414.616.PLAY or email [email protected].
