Congresswomen Gwen Moore has endorsed Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett for governor in the upcoming recall election.
“Tom gives all of us who are so passionately committed to restoring our Wisconsin values the best chance of defeating Scott Walker,” Moore said.
Congresswomen Moore went on to say that as governor, Tom Barrett will continue his long and strong history of fighting for the working and middle class.
Polling shows that Barrett offers Democrats, Progressive and independents hungry for change the best chance to defeat Scott Walker, but he must first advance in the May 8 primary election first
Moore said Tom Barrett will fight for the working and middle class families, improve our communities, stand for education and fight against discrimination and injustice. Moore went on to say Barrett will stop big tax breaks to the rich and large corporations and work on restoring tax relief for seniors and the working poor.
And as Mayor of Milwaukee Tom Barrett knows firsthand the devastating affects that Scott Walkers dramatic budget cuts have had on education and local communities.
“I think citizens of Wisconsin have a great opportunity for a do-over,” said Moore referencing the 2010 election in which a giant Republican wave swept the country. “We’re going to do it right this time people.”
Under Scott Walker Wisconsin lost more jobs then any other state in the country, and Moore made clear Tom Barrett will focus on creating jobs.
Moore also emphasized Tom Barrett is the best candidate to defeat Walker, and as governor he will bring Wisconsin together and heal our state’s political wounds.
The primary election is May 8th.
