In May of 2007, the Lord led Pastor Melva Henderson to host an assembly of women who loved Him, and desired to spend an evening doing nothing but worshiping, praying, and feeding on the word of God.
These women were encouraged for one night to leave the “stuff” behind and join others in laying their lives down for the cause of spiritually investing in themselves. Anticipating 90 women, Melva was surprised to see more than 200 women arrived hungry for a move of God.
In 2008, the number increased to nearly 400 and each year the event has exceeded its anticipated number. It is believed that Women in Worship will become one of the largest gatherings of spirit filled, spirit led women within the state of Wisconsin.
Due to a record turnout of close to 1,000 women of all ages, races and social-economic backgrounds in 2010; it has been changed to a 2-day event this year. Women in Worship 2011 will feature five dynamic speakers representing diverse backgrounds and experiences.
It is expected that over 2,000 women from the state of Wisconsin and beyond will participate in this two-day event.
