An easy 6-mile ride around town, with short stops at local landmarks showcasing Milwaukee’s diversity and encouraging civic engagement.
On October 24th, starting at 9am at O’Donnell Park, riders will be welcomed by Julietta Henry, Milwaukee County Elections Director and Barbara Beckert with Disability Rights Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition (invited). Hear how important voting is in this and every election and make a plan to vote if you haven’t already done so!
Riders will then start off to the Milwaukee Jewish Museum and will hear briefly from Museum Director Patti Sherman – Cisler about the Museum’s latest exhibition “Luba Lukova: Designing Justice”. From there, you head to America’s Black Holocaust Museum to learn a bit about its rich history and importance to the community.
Riders then head back east to the Milwaukee Public Library’s East Library Branch which proudly serves as an early voting site. Library staff welcome riders and City of Milwaukee residents who are already registered to vote can take advantage of the opportunity and vote that day! From there riders can head home or return to Museum Center Park Garage to retrieve their car.
The ride is intended to be a community building, group activity which can be done while still maintaining social distance. The first 140 riders will receive a disposable “VOTE” face mask.
