Commenting on an individual’s sexuality is a topic almost as sensitive as republican vs democratic, if not more sensitive.
Even though we ‘regular’ people know that, it seems like these public figures are having a hard time grasping the subject.
By public figure, I mean comedian Lil Duval.
Apparently, when Duval was asked what he would do if, after four months of dating a woman she told him she was transgender, he responded that he would kill her, as if walking away was not an option.
After saying that he would kill the trans, radio host, Charlemagne The God, stated that the comedian couldn’t do that because it would be considered a hate crime.
(To get straight to the point start video at 6:25)
Uh Oh. Trouble in paradise.
Of course, Twitter took no problem coming up with a hashtag for what is now being circulated all over the internet as Duval and his unacceptable comment. Thus, #BoycottBreakfastClub was born.
Ciara McElveen, Chyna Doll Dupree, Mesha Caldwell, Jamie Lee Wounded Arrow, Jojo Striker and Keke Collier (just to name a few) are transgender women who have actually been killed for being who they are. It is very unfortunate that we live in a world where people who are different are strongly disliked and looked down upon.
Lil Duval has received tons of backlash for his insensitive comment, as well as the actual radio show.
According to Blavity, there are many people who said the show should have been ended long before this controversial incident took place. and apparently this #BoycottBreakfastClub trend has earned the popular talk show ….. Donkey of the day!
