The awkwardness of this year has yet to slow down. While it feels like kids have been out of school all year, if they were keeping up with their school work they certainly deserve to be rewarded. Many businesses are opening up slowly but surely, however safety comes first.
This may not be the year to visit amusement parks and arcades. Nonetheless this is the year to have some fun. This summer fill your calendar with love and fun for everyone.
As the summer shows it’s face, get ready for a summer full of adventure. Here’s some fun things to do with the kids.
1. Have a mini graduation ceremony.
2. Host outdoor movie night with a screen projector. (Invite others. Roast hot dogs on sticks, pop popcorn and finish off with s’mores.)
3. Make a photo journal or a family.
4. Teach them black history.
5. Make a fort out of cardboard boxes.
6. Visit a farmer’s market.
7. Stage an A-to-Z scavenger hunt, where you have to find something that starts with every letter.
8. Play cans.
9. Have a picnic at park.
10. Go canoeing at a local lake.
11. Build a sandcastle.
12. Write and illustrate your own book and have it published.
13. Make homemade popsicles.
14. Clean up trash at a park in your neighborhood.
15. Have a backyard campfire.
16. Make homemade pizza.
17. Go for a nature walk and then make a collage from objects you find along the way. (Use gloves)
18. Head to a creek and look at the ducks.
19. Set up a lemonade stand and raise some money for a good cause.
20. Have a water balloon fight!
21. Paint with your hands.
22. Go biking on a trail.
23. Plan a picnic at a local park — or in your backyard.
