Lawyer/filmmaker Jeffery Robinson Discusses the Real Story of Anti-Black Racism in the US on Ben & Jerry’s Podcast, “Into the Mix”
SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT, April 29, 2022—Jeffery Robinson, fresh off the release of his searing new documentary on the history of anti-Black racism in the US, is the latest guest on Ben & Jerry’s podcast, “Into the Mix.”
Robinson is a criminal defense and civil rights lawyer. His research into the hidden history of America’s ties to white supremacy resulted in a presentation and then documentary titled “Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America.” The film has been called expansive, gut-wrenching, and one of the most powerful examinations of our country’s national curse.
“Part of erasing history is erasing your complicity and your responsibility and your involvement in a system that is now being exposed as really corrupt,” Robinson says in the new podcast episode, streaming today. “What I’m interested in is accountability for our choices now and realizing the reasons it looks like it does today have to do with us ignoring the truth about our past.”
“Into the Mix: A Ben & Jerry’s Podcast About Joy & Justice” is hosted by New York Times best-selling author Ashley C. Ford and features prominent cultural figures reflecting on how they’ve used their influence to champion social change. The podcast is being brought to life by Vox Media’s award-winning brand studio Vox Creative, with production by Black-owned ABF Creative.
“Into the Mix” is free for listeners to stream on their favorite podcast app. The series kicked off with singer-activist John Legend. Future guests will include environmentalist Bill McKibben and rocker-poet-activist Patti Smith.
