Rihanna didn’t have such jolly good time for all of her time in London.
The “Stay” singer, in town to debut her River Island clothing line during Fashion Week, was injured early Sunday morning at the Box nightclub in Soho after a fan reportedly launched a bottle in her direction … all because she’s reunited with Chris Brown.
According to The New York Daily News, as RiRi and her entourage made their way out of the club at 3 a.m., a male “fan” reportedly approached and began yelling about her controversial relationship with the “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer, who pled guilty to beating her in February 2009.
The unidentified man then reportedly launched a bottle of Lucozade, a British energy drink, in her direction. And although the drink didn’t actually make contact with her, she did fall against a metal grate during the chaos and scraped her right knee.
As she walked to an awaiting car, Rihanna dabbed at the blood with a tissue.
One of her bodyguards reportedly also injured his leg in the melee and went to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite the scary moment, Rihanna was all smiles as she left her London hotel later on Sunday – and her knee looked much better than the night before.
But is Rihanna even still back with Brown? On Friday, omg! reported that the tempestuous twosome had spent Valentine’s Day apart, even though they had put on quite a PDA show at the Grammys on the Sunday night before.
On Wednesday night, they were both at the same event at L.A.’s Playhouse club – but sat on opposite ends of the VIP section and did not interact once. “She refused to sit with or even near him,” an eyewitness told Us Weekly. “When she noticed he was there, she made a huge show of rubbing her presence in his face.”
Still, did they hook up after that? When Rihanna arrived in London on Saturday, she was wearing the same black jacket (decorated with a giant red heart) that Brown wore that night at Playhouse.
Rihanna is also battling a very strange new article written about her by feminist theorist Camille Paglia in the U.K.’s Sunday Times. In the new cover feature, the controversy author compares the singer to Princess Diana, which RiRi tweeted a photo of on Sunday.Just so happens I came home drunk to this in a pile of papers outside my hotel room!
