With so many horrific incidents happening across the globe, it seems imperative to learn to focus on the things that are going right. Whether we look to the left or to the right, across the street or down the road, online or offline the terrible news seems to continue weekly.
Because of so many things being up and down in the world today, learning to stay positive is so necessary. In life, there’s always going to be people, places, and things that can get you down. However that’s only if you let it.
With Thanksgiving in mind, it’s important to know that Thanksgiving isn’t the only time or reason you should be thankful. Having gratitude has so many benefits. Oftentimes, more benefits than we can count or mentally put together.
Gratitude is something that helps build healthy relationships and even start new ones. Doing nice things to show your appreciation of a person can go a very long way. We feel good when we are appreciative, but we build great character when we show our appreciation to others.
Having an attitude of gratitude has physical and psychological benefits as well. When you’re grateful, you subconsciously begin to appreciate more things. You begin to care for yourself better. You exercise more. It produces more positive thoughts into your brain and heightens your happiness while decreasing depression.
Grateful people tend to have a high self esteem; knowing who they are and what they want. They sleep better at night and have better energy in the morning.
So this week, let’s be grateful. Let’s be thankful, not just because of a holiday. Let’s be thankful because we want to become better. We want to make better decisions. We want to attract great. Let’s be grateful because we want to.
That attitude of gratitude goes a long way!
