In the world we live in today, it seems this thing called “life” gets crazier and crazier and time progresses. So many uncontrollable events seem to occur. The world has changed, though things are trying to get back normal. COVID numbers are still alive. People are still dying. The vaccine is still questionable for many. I mean, the list doesn’t stop.

Though help can come in many forms, there’s nothing like trying a Therapist. With 1 and 5 Americans dealing with mental illness, therapist have lots of work experience. Their job is to help you to better understand yourself. They typically don’t know you, so they have a fresh, no biased, look at your situation. This gives them the leverage they need to assist you best.
Here’s a few signs/reasons you might need to see a therapist:
Life Changes
These can include divorce, separation, having a baby, or even death, but not limited too. Life changes can boost your anxiety and/or activate your depression. They can keep you in a dark/rough place.
Interpersonal Relationships
Relationships can indeed be overwhelming when they’re not in the healthiest place. And just because no one is physically fighting in a relationship, that doesn’t mean it’s not toxic. Toxic relationships have become more common than we like to imagine. But many times a relationship can grow from toxic places with honesty and communication. Sometimes we give people the key to our hearts and forget we have the master lock. We can choose to seek help. We do have control.
Trauma
Experiencing trauma is no easy burden. Traumatic events such as finding someone unconscious, getting robbed or shot, watching a loved one die, car accidents, sexual assault and so much more. These situations can leave you broken. They can leave you reflecting on the incident over and over. Sometimes you feel like you just need to hit the reset button.
Anxiety/Depression
Anxiety and depression have many long and short term affects. They can keep in a place where you feel stuck. They can kill your dreams. They can lower your energy. They can naturally overwhelm you. Many people live with anxiety and depression everyday. The key is to take control. Find your help. Stick with it.
Substance Abuse
If you find yourself leaning on drugs and alcohol just to get through the day, it’s safe to say, something may be wrong. Maybe you’re dealing with a difficult internal issue. Maybe something or someone you love hurt you. Maybe you literally feel like giving up on life. Maybe you just want to numb the pain of whatever you’re feeling. Whatever your reasons are, you need to know the truth. If you finding yourself indulging more than you should, seek help.
