Let me start off by saying I absolutely love traveling. Like, if I had to make a list of things that I love to do in life, traveling takes the number one spot. Growing up, I remember attending family reunions with my people in many different states.
We would rent a big van and be on our way somewhere south, oftentimes stopping through Boomland before we reached our destination. The drive was real, but also real long.
I loved every bit of traveling with the family, but as I got older, the family trips slowed down, tremendously. We went from once or twice a year to once or twice every 5 years.
When I became 21, I took my first flight. I was visiting a high school friend with a few girls a grew up with. We all were flying in from different places, so in essence, I began to travel alone.
After that trip, I began to put more and more dates on the calendar. There was some kind of amazing feeling that happened when I got off the plane. No matter where I’m going or if I’m with someone or not, I absolutely love to travel.
With more and more experience, I began to realize the benefits of traveling. For instance, when you travel, you get to experience new culture. You can be from the Midwest and use to “rude” behavior. But when you go down south, there’s so much hospitality and many people working together.
Paying attention to the culture of where you are when you travel can humble you or make you better. Traveling builds bonds. Traveling with people is special whether a friend, co-worker, or a loved one, a special bond is built. Naturally, it builds trust and rapport.
I also enjoy traveling because there’s simply so much to see. I believe each and every person should experience other cities, states, and countries. It opens up your mind to new things and ideas. Traveling can be very inspiring. It’s amazing to see just how people in other places think and see.
Scenery alone does it for me. I love to see the variety of trees and street design. I love to see the aesthetics of new places. It’s therapeutic. It’s calming. Visiting new waters and new land can really make you feel good.
I believe traveling is a MUST. I strongly believe that traveling can truly change your life. It helps make this life worth living even more! There’s a whole world out there. Go get it.
