HELP MILWAUKEE WIN $25,000 BY VOTING TODAY

October 28, 2016 - November 4, 2016

Communities across the United States answered the
call from State Farm® to submit causes that would make a positive impact
in their neighborhoods. Now Milwaukee needs your help by voting for two
local causes to bring money to the community.

From Oct. 26 through Nov.4, anyone with a valid email address can vote
for their favorite cause at www.neighborhoodassist.com [9] to help bring
$25,000 each to the top 40 vote-getters.
Two thousand submissions were received through State Farm Neighborhood
Assist, a crowd-sourced philanthropic program that empowers communities
to identify issues in their neighborhoods. At least one cause was
received from every state. The State Farm Youth Advisory Board, a group
of 30 students who are passionate about social responsibility, reviewed
the submissions and selected the top 200 finalists based on criteria
they created.

Milwaukee has two causes in the top 200. Milwaukee Marshall High School
is vying for a grant to support development of an Engineering Makerspace
to strengthen Milwaukee’s existing manufacting sector by exposing
students to the following fields: electrical, mechanical, computing.

PEARLS For Teen Girls, a goal-setting program aims to help girls
develop practical skills to make good choices. The program focuses on
personal responsibility, empathy, respect and leadership.

The 200 causes have until Nov. 4 to rally votes and anyone voting is
allowed up to 10 votes per day. On Nov. 30, the top 40 vote-receiving
causes will be announced at www.neighborhoodassist.com [9] and a $25,000
grant will be awarded to the affiliated nonprofits.

“Neighborhood Assist is another example of State Farm helping life go
right in communities all across the U.S. ” said Kellie Clapper, State
Farm Assistant Vice President. “The communities themselves play an
important role in inspiring people to rally and vote for these important
causes.”
