Alderman José G. Pérez urges businesses to attend near south side session this week
Anyone starting or expanding a restaurant, tavern, liquor store, or convenience store should make plans to attend the City of Milwaukee’s FREE Pivot Program session on Thursday, February 8 at the Mitchell Street Library (Community Room), 906 W. Historic Mitchell St., according to Alderman José G. Pérez.
“It can be intimidating for new business owners looking to access resources and trying to make sense of an array of rules and regulations pertaining to licenses in the city, but that’s where the Pivot Program comes in to provide some excellent help – free of charge,” Alderman Pérez said.
Attendees at Pivot Program sessions will learn more from License Division staff about:
- Keeping licenses current and in good standing
- Resolving a licensing problem
- Better understanding rules & regulations
- Learning best practices to improve business
- Connecting with City and community resources
For those unable to make Thursday’s session, there are three other Pivot Program sessions scheduled for 2024: Thursday, May 16 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) at Northcott Neighborhood House, 2460 N. 6th St., Tuesday, August 20 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) at Washington Park Library (Finney Community Room), 2121 N. Sherman Blvd., or Thursday, November 21 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) at Villard Square Library (Community Room), 5190 N. 35th St.
