On the surface, the 2016 presidential election may seem like a choice between “Grandma Nixon and the fifth horseman of the apocalypse.” However, after Donald Trump’s request that Russia hack American computers to find Hillary Clinton’s missing 33,000 emails, Trevor Noah said he now believes the difference between the two candidates was even more stark.
“With Hillary Clinton, [the] worst case scenario is you have a bad president for four years,” Noah said on “The Daily Show” Wednesday night. “America’s had bad presidents before. You’ll get through it.”
By comparison, Noah said Trump was the type of leader that America had never seen: a man who promised to be a law and order leader while inviting “foreign hackers to steal files that he himself said contained American national security data.”
Noah pointed out that Trump was “lovingly endorsed by North Korea dictator Kim Jong.” Trump also said he admired former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
“These are [Trump’s] role models,” Noah said. “You have to understand when [people like this] are in power, they don’t go away. You don’t get a chance to vote them in four years.
“Their rule ends when the country ends.”
