As the holidays approach whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa , Hanukkah or have a work event, church or extended family holiday program and parties, you always want to look beautifully festive and unique.
I recently put together a look for a casual holiday dinner with a few of my old co- workers from many years ago.
I didn’t do my usual all black and silver or a sweater with colorful accents.
This year for our annual time together, I went into the closet and coordinated a special outfit for the occasion. It represented my mood, my feelings, and personality at that moment; and I didn’t have to break the bank.
I wore a metallic gold top from Kohl’s department store (Jennifer Lopez brand). I bought this after Christmas in 2012 and never wore it. I also wore a pair of velvet green jeans from Target that I purchased in 2018. The earrings were a special purchase from Aldo’s accessory rack.
My total cost for clothes was $75.00. I had my hair braided a few weeks ago and pinned it up for a different affect. In addition, I did a little “holiday” make up inspired by MAC cosmetics “A Taste of Stardom” Lip stick collection because of the non- traditional hues, and the sparkle and brightness of the colors.
I gave myself a quick mini – facial and prepped and primped with the items below:
* Sephora Collection – Ultra Glow Serum.( https://www.sephora.com/)
* 3D lashes from Wink & Pout by Kym Lee,
* Eye shadows are a mix of Lorac Mega A4 palette( shop.nordstrom.com)
* Wanderlust pallete, https://profusioncosmetics.com/
* Mario Bandescu https://www.mariobadescu.com/
(lavender) for the face set
*MAC concealer, star dipped face compact bronzer, https://www.maccosmetics.com/
* A.J. Crimson foundation https://ajcrimson.com/
* Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil https://www.narscosmetics.com/
* mixed with Dior Addict Black Tie Plum www.dior.com
* and a hint of NYX black lip stain… https://www.nyxcosmetics.com/
The fragrance was Angel by Thierry Mugler https://www.neimanmarcus.com/
This year has truly been about me learning to honor what I like instead of what is popular, trendy, or pricey. Enjoy the holiday season with your own look and style. This is the best season of your life: Create, Curate and Live. Take time to look in the mirror and glow, shine, and celebrate you. Happily.Rebelliously.Beautiful forever. Tis the Season.
