Rugenia Jefferson (Ru) was
Born and raised in the city of Milwaukee WI
Ru grew up with strong Christian roots both her mother and father were preachers kids.
At the age of 20 Ru gave her life to Christ and joined a host of believers in becoming a follower. Ru is now a singer, songwriter and worship leader serving at Evolve Church. In August of 2020 Ru excepted her call to ministry and was ordained as a minister of the gospel.
Ru is currently apart of a national recording group called Maverick City Music. She has traveled and gained a lot of wisdom from this group developing relationships with people all over the world. Ru continues to follow the voice of God and lives by a few words; open, available, and humble.
Her “Ripped Pages” album release concert was a beautiful sight to see. She had people from all walks of life in the building praising God and jamming to her new music.
Just from being a part, listening to the lyrics of the songs, you can tell this was a heartfelt project. Healing words filled the room and the spirit of God was in the place.
“These are not just songs. These are songs of freedom.” Ru Jefferson says as she wraps up the night.
Jefferson went on to tell her story about overcoming suicidal thoughts in hopes to encourage anyone who had felt that same way. She went on to reach the hearts of those who haven’t as well.
The concert was a complete success and an event our city needed and needs more of.
Congratulations Ru Jefferson! You’re shining and your light is bright. Keep playing your part in making the world a better place through song and worship.
